If unable to come into the salon to get a manicure, no worries, Perfect Nails has you covered. If you have to take matters into your own hands, here is how you can give yourself the Deluxe Essential Manicure:

What you need:

Before you get started you need the essentials, the equipment which you will use:

  • non-acetone nail polish remover and cotton balls

  • nail file

  • buffing block

  • sugar scrub to exfoliate

  • orangewood stick

  • cuticle oil

  • moisturizer

  • nail polish (base coat, color, and top coat)

Cleaning:

Clean your nails using the non-acetone nail polish remover of any residue of nail polish or any other substance that can interfere. Your needs need to be clean before we can proceed, so pay attention at this step.

Soak ‘em and Scrub ‘em:

Soak your hands for two to three minutes. Follow up with exfoliation, use a body scrub if available. In case you don’t have it, for an easy at-home fix, just mix one tablespoon of sugar with one tablespoon of baby oil gel and gently scrub away the dead, dry cells.

Caring for your Cuticles:

Soften your cuticles by rubbing a bit of oil on them. Once you have done this properly, your cuticles should be nice and soft, so go ahead and push them back with an orange wood stick to get a really nice shape. You can also use this tool to clean and dirt from under the nail. Grab a vitamin-rich moisturizer, and slather it on. Before moving on to step four, swipe the nail beds with non-acetone polish remover to remove any oil and moisturizer. The key to long lasting polish is super clean nails!

Crank up that Base….Coat:

Apply a base coat so a smooth even surface is produced. One thin coat will do the trick just fine.

Polish:

Put on two thin layers of polish, and allow the color to dry totally between each coat. The key is to make the layers of polish as thin as possible, which will aid in longevity and help the polish dry more quickly.

Shine On:

Add a top coat, that not only adds shine, but smooths out any flaws. Just one thin coat will do it.

Relax:

Simple as that, relax. You need time to let the coats of polish dry so just kick back and relax.
